Industry Information

Which is better, a combination screw or a regular screw?

The difference between a combination screw and a regular screw is that the combination screw is used in combination with other components, such as elastic washers, flat washers, and serrations. Other screws are usually installed before rolling, while the washer cannot be removed after rolling. The raw materials for combination screws are usually iron and stainless steel, and their advantage is that they are equipped with corresponding washers, which can make production line operation convenient and efficient, and improve work efficiency. Therefore, they are widely used in electrical, mechanical, furniture, ships, and other fields.
What are the raw materials
Generally speaking, there are two types of raw materials for combination screws: iron and stainless steel. The ones made of iron are usually made of different iron screw wires, such as 10101018 and 10B21. 10B21 is used to make 8.8 grade combination screws. For example, grade 8.8 hex socket combination screws are commonly made with 10B21 wire. After completion, proceed with heat treatment. After heat treatment, remove the hydrogen before electroplating. This is to avoid cracking of the spring washer of the hexagonal combination screw.
The combination screw of stainless steel in the market generally refers to the stainless steel SUS304 combination screw. 201 combination screws are generally rarely made. Few combination screw manufacturers produce 201 combination screws. Due to the poor hardness of the stainless steel 201 screw wire, it is easy to produce cracks.
Please pay attention to the following four requirements for selecting the appropriate combination screw:
1、 It depends on the requirements for the raw materials of the screws, which type of combination screw is required, such as selecting stainless steel or iron.
2、 It depends on the requirements for the national standard number of combination screws. Common standards include GB9074.8, GB9074.4, GB9074.13, and so on.
3、 It depends on the requirements for the mechanical properties and strength of the combination screw, such as whether the grade is required to be 4.8 or 8.8, and whether the screw needs to be hardened.
4、 Secondly, it is worth noting that there are many types of combination screws, such as triple combination screws, outer hexagonal combination screws, cross pan head combination screws, inner hexagonal combination screws, stainless steel combination screws, high-strength combination screws, etc. Combination screws like iron require electroplating. Stainless steel combination screws are not required.
